I’ve been using Plurk for a while. For you who don’t know what Plurk is, Plurk is a microblogging tool that provide Karma feature. Karma scores your activities on Plurk, such as your friendship request, your status updates (called ‘plurk’) and your comments to your Friends’ plurks. Basically, the more active you are in Plurk, the more Karma you’ll get. And the more karma you get, you are going to have more feature such as additional smileys.
I used to plurk many things from complaints, worries, activities, anger, wonders, jokes and even junks. I often accidentally plurk something personal. This is why I set my plurk account to private.
The bad thing is, I’m addicted to this service. I’ve been busy with my job for the past four weeks, and I think it is terrible to have my karma down.
This morning I got an idea on how to make my plurk account more productive for getting things done while keep my karma growing. Here’s the rule, I’ll plurk at least five times a day, and each plurk denotes progress I’ve made in some certain target. If I’m not making any progress, I’ll plurk less and this means I’m going to loose my Karma. And yeah, I almost forgot to tell that plurk has a timeline interface so it is easier for me to track my progress.
This might be noisy for my plurk friends, but they could mute me anytime. And I think, they could be inspired to have some more progress listed in their own plurk account too!
